Kent's Wild Flowers (POSTPONED, sorry)

Thu 09 Dec 2010 06:30 pm
Waterstones, Canterbury

ATTENTION - The launch of Eric Philp's New Atlas of the Kent Flora at Canterbury Waterstones this Thursday, 9th December has been cancelled.  It is hoped to reschedule the launch in January.

Eric Philp, author of the recently published  'A New Atlas of the Kent Flora', will give a fascinating talk about his survey of the wild flowers of Kent. More than 250,000 records covering over 2500 taxa were amassed by the author including several species new to the county. Admission free.

Members are reminded that all who attend meetings of the Club do so at their own risk.

Please bring a packed lunch to all full day meetings. All field meetings start at 10.30am unless otherwise indicated.

Stay safe on field meetings:

  • Dress appropriately for the weather. Stay warm and dry in Winter, cool in Summer.
  • Wear strong, waterproof boots with good ankle support and well-treaded soles.
  • Carry, and use, a high SPF sun cream in bright weather.
  • Ensure your tetanus inoculations are up-to-date.
  • In Summer, carry plentiful supplies of water and drink frequently.
