Kent Naturalist, volume 1

Kent Naturalist is the new journal of the Kent Field Club, and is sent free to Field Club members in the spring of each year. A limited number of copies are also now available for purchase. Volume 1 includes the following long papers: Detecting positive changes in the vegetation on a chalk grassland restoration site at Ranscombe Farm Reserve in North Kent; Assessing the long-term condition of intertidal mussel beds in relation to encroachment by wild Pacific oysters; The decline of kelp beds in Kent; Meeting the 30x30 target for biodiversity in Kent and Medway; and Observations on a nesting aggregation of the oak mining bee. Plus there are reports of the club’s field meetings in 2023, weather records for the year, and reports on fungi, marine algae, vascular plants, flies, grasshoppers and allied insects, sawflies and bats. 224 pages, and printed in colour throughout.
